Girls’ Night at Beaton’s, Palm Springs

By Ersilia Pompilio

Palm Springs doesn’t do subtle it does statements. And right now, the statement is Beaton’s. Since opening in January 2026, this jewel box lounge tucked beside Bar Cecil has become the kind of place people name drop like a badge of honor. Reservations? Practically a myth. “Book weeks ahead,” they say. “Or try your luck at the bar after 9.”

So naturally, we did the latter.

It was one of those dry, wind whipped desert nights where your hair has a mind of its own and the group chat is buzzing: girls night??? We rolled up at 9 sharp, manifesting main character energy and somehow, the universe delivered. Two bar seats opened like magic. We slipped in, already feeling like we’d won something.

First impression? Drama. The good kind. A red velvet tufted ceiling hovers overhead like a glam cloud, while walls drip in eclectic artwork including nods to Cecil Beaton himself, the British icon known for photographing royalty and redefining fashion imagery. It’s giving vintage London meets desert decadence. It’s giving…we’re not leaving anytime soon.

Now let’s talk about the real star of the show: the bar. If you’re not sitting here, you’re doing it wrong. The bartenders don’t just make drinks they perform. Shakers flying, flames flickering, glassware clinking in perfect rhythm it’s basically dinner and a show, and we are seated. Within minutes, we’re deep in conversation, laughing about chaotic dating lives and swapping stories like we’re in our own private podcast episode.

One thing about a SQUAD night: we trust the bartender.

And ours did not steer us wrong.

We skipped the bolognese pasta (growth!) and went straight for indulgence. The foie gras? Silky, rich, a little bit dramatic just like us. The duck bao arrived steaming, pillowy, and borderline life changing. And then, the burger. Yes, that burger. Juicy, unapologetic, meant to be shared but let’s be honest, we all wanted our own. No regrets.

Between bites, we sipped cocktails that felt curated for our personalities bold, a little flirty, and not afraid to stand out. Beaton’s doesn’t just serve food; it serves a mood. It’s intimate but buzzy, stylish but unpretentious. You can show up in heels or a chic oversized blazer and feel equally at home.

And just when you think you’ve seen it all, there’s a peek of the lush patio in the back twinkling, inviting, very “we’ll be back for round two.”

By the time we left, cheeks flushed and group chat already reliving the highlights, one thing was clear: Beaton’s isn’t just a place you go it’s a place you experience. It’s where Palm Springs girls’ nights level up. Where the cocktails are strong, the vibes are immaculate, and the memories? Slightly unhinged in the best way.

Pro tip: don’t wait weeks. Roll the dice at 9pm. You just might get lucky.
