Palm Springs on Mother’s Day weekend is basically one giant group chat that somehow turned into a vacation. Half the girls are here to celebrate Mom. The other half are here because they love their mom… from a tasteful distance with poolside cocktails and SPF 50. Either way? Desert behavior is loading.
The weather is hot, the playlists are hotter, and somewhere on Palm Canyon a woman named Denise is ordering her third spicy marg while saying, “I NEVER do this.” Yes she does. And honestly? We support her journey.
Here’s your SQUAD-approved guide to surviving — and thriving — this Mother’s Day weekend in the desert.

1. Rooftop Pool Party at The Rowan Palm Springs
Saturday, May 9 | 5:30 PM – 9:30 PM
Nothing says “I appreciate motherhood” like deep house music echoing over a rooftop infinity pool while you aggressively reapply lip gloss.
The Rowan is giving chic rooftop energy with sunset views, cocktails colder than your ex’s apology text, and a crowd that looks like they all own linen sets. Expect deep house, chill vibes, and at least one girl taking photos on a pool float she absolutely did not rent herself.
Tickets through ResortPass, because adulthood is just paying for pool access now.
Vibe check: rich aunt energy without the inheritance.

2. Asada Fest in Indio
Saturday, May 9 | 3 PM – 9 PM
Listen. If your love language is grilled meat and live music, this is your Super Bowl.
Asada Fest is free, all ages, and fully prepared to ruin every sad little taco you eat for the rest of the year. You’ve got live entertainment from Los Cadetes de Linares, Luna Roja, and DJDxSko — aka the soundtrack to texting “we should do this more often” in the family group chat and never following through.
Bring your cousins. Bring your situationship. Bring your mom if she can hang.
Warning: somebody’s tío will challenge you to dance.

3. No PhonMo with DJ Ralphy at Reforma Palm Springs
Saturday, May 9 | 9 PM – 2 AM
No phones. No scrolling. No posting “vibes” on your story with three fire emojis.
Just pure chaotic dance-floor spirituality.
No PhonMo is basically a social experiment asking: “What if we actually lived in the moment?” Terrifying. Revolutionary. Beautiful. DJ Ralphy is spinning hip hop, R&B, and Latin throwbacks, so prepare to hear songs that instantly transport you back to being emotionally unstable in 2018.
This is where the girls who said “I’m staying in tonight” end up by 11:47 PM.
Dress code: emotionally available but hot.

4. Mother’s Day Sound Bath at Blissfull Oasis
Sunday, May 10 | 10:30 AM, 1 PM & 5 PM
After two straight days of tequila, dancing, and pretending iced coffee counts as hydration, your nervous system deserves a little apology.
Enter: the Mother’s Day Sound Bath.
This is your sign to lie on the floor, reconnect with the universe, and release whatever weird energy you absorbed from that one man at the hotel bar explaining crypto. The Sound Oasis in Palm Desert is serving calm, healing, and “I suddenly want to buy crystals” energy.
Honestly? Mom would probably love this. So would your inner child. So would your hangover.

5. The Bitchiest Brunch at Oscar's Palm Springs
Sunday, May 10 | 10 AM & 1 PM
Mother’s Day but make it unhinged.
Oscar’s legendary brunch is back and she’s bringing drama, performances, cocktails, and enough attitude to heal generational trauma. “Get served” is both the slogan and a possible threat.
Expect outrageous fun, iconic entertainment, and moms living their absolute best lives while daughters try to keep up. Somewhere between your second mimosa and somebody lip-syncing for their life, you’ll realize this is exactly what Mother’s Day should feel like.
Chaotic. Fabulous. Slightly inappropriate.
Just like family.
Final Thoughts
Whether you’re celebrating your mom, escaping your mom, becoming your mom, or recovering from a text that started with “Per my last message,” Palm Springs understood the assignment this weekend.
Drink water. Wear sunscreen. Text your mother back.
Or don’t. That’s between you and her.
