La Dolce Vita Is Alive at Il Corso One Affogato at a Time

If you've ever watched Roman Holiday and dreamed of zipping through Rome on a Vespa or wished you could dine like Julia Roberts in Eat Pray Love, here's some good news: you don't need a passport. You just need a reservation at Il Corso.

Walking into Il Corso feels like stepping onto the set of an Italian film.

Crisp white tablecloths, impeccable service, lively conversation, and the kind of atmosphere where no one is checking the time because dinner is the evening's main event. Grab a window seat around 5 p.m., and you'll have front-row seats to one of Palm Springs' favorite pastimes—people-watching with a glass of wine in hand. Before long, you'll forget you're in the desert and swear you've wandered into a sophisticated trattoria tucked away in Capri.

Now, let's talk dessert.

The affogato, which literally means "drowned" in Italian, is one of life's simplest pleasures. Velvety vanilla gelato is "drowned" beneath a rich shot of hot espresso, creating the perfect balance of creamy, sweet, and bold. On a 106-degree Palm Springs afternoon, it's less dessert and more divine intervention.

Of course, no Italian meal starts with dessert. Order the lasagna first. Layered with rich Bolognese sauce, it's the kind of comforting dish that tastes like somebody's nonna has been perfecting the recipe for generations. Pair it with warm bread dipped in olive oil and vinegar, and suddenly you're speaking fluent "Mangia!"

As an Italian, I can tell you authenticity isn't just about recipes—it's about how a meal makes you feel. Il Corso doesn't simply serve dinner; it reminds you to slow down, savor every bite, and enjoy the company around the table.

Bellissimo.
