Ernest Coffee Gets a Tiki Glow-Up: Your Favorite Palm Springs Coffee Spot Just Entered Its Vacation Era

Palm Springs has always been a place where the past and present casually hang out together usually poolside, wearing sunglasses. And now one of our favorite coffee spots just got a fresh new look.

Ernest Coffee has officially entered its rebrand era, and we are loving the tropical twist.

The new logo features a playful caricature sticker of the legendary Don the Beachcomber—aka Ernest Raymond Beaumont Gantt chilling in a coffee cup smoking a cigar. Or is it a tiki cocktail? Honestly, we’re not asking questions. It’s giving desert vacation, tiki nostalgia, and “meet me here before brunch” energy.

The new design feels brighter and more spacious, creating the perfect vibe for sipping your morning cup while soaking up a little Palm Springs history. We do have to admit, we’ll forever miss the original bookcase wallpaper that made the space feel like your coolest friend’s vintage library.

The summer drink lineup is also having a moment.

The Iced Cookie Butter Latte is the seasonal must-try sweet, but not “I need a sugar nap” sweet. It’s the perfect balance and totally fits the summer coffee girl aesthetic. Pair it with the tempting Nutella brioche, because vacation calories don’t count (that’s basically science).

Look around and you’ll find tiki treasures everywhere—from the statement orange tiki carvings that look like they might come alive after midnight for a secret island jam session, to the peek-a-boo ship mirror adding another layer of vintage charm.

Fun fact: In 1953, Don the Beachcomber’s tiki restaurant opened in this exact space.

Ernest Coffee honors that legacy by celebrating the father of tiki culture while serving delicious Stumptown coffee every morning.

Even the original tiki torches still stand proudly above the entrance.
