Joshua Tree Is So Magical Even Lisa Kudrow Visited... Without Leaving Home

Every girls' trip has that one friend who says, "I just have a feeling."

In Joshua Tree, that sentence suddenly feels... believable.

Maybe it's the giant boulders that look like they were stacked by aliens. Maybe it's the endless stars. Maybe it's because someone inevitably pulls a deck of tarot cards out of their weekender bag before the charcuterie board is even unpacked.

Whatever it is, Joshua Tree has earned its reputation as California's capital of beautifully unhinged desert magic.

And then there's Lisa Kudrow.

While appearing on Mayim Bialik's Breakdown, the Friends actress shared a story that sounds like it came straight out of a Palm Springs brunch conversation after one too many spicy margaritas. While her husband, Michel, was camping with his buddies in Joshua Tree, Lisa wasn't checking Find My iPhone or secretly dropping an AirTag in his backpack.

She says she tried something much more ambitious.

While soaking in her nightly bath in Los Angeles, Lisa focused all of her attention on being with her husband in Joshua Tree. Instead of picturing tents and sleeping bags, she says she envisioned a structure, Adirondack chairs surrounding a fire pit, and people hanging out together.

Plot twist.

When Michel returned home, Lisa told him exactly what she'd seen. He laughed and explained that although they had gone camping, the group had "treated themselves" one evening by stopping at a restaurant where, wait for it, they were sitting in Adirondack chairs around a fire pit smoking cigars. Suddenly, Lisa's bathtub vision didn't sound so random after all.

Did Lisa actually remote view? Was it intuition? Coincidence? Desert magic? Your guess is as good as ours. Even Lisa admitted it was exhausting and not exactly something she'd want to do every weekend.

But honestly? Stories like this are exactly why we keep coming back to Joshua Tree.

The desert has a funny way of making you question everything. One minute you're hiking through ancient rock formations, the next you're buying crystals from a roadside shop because, "Well... it can't hurt." Before long you're discussing moon phases with strangers you've known for six minutes and somehow it all makes perfect sense.

So if your next SQUAD getaway includes Joshua Tree, don't be surprised if someone starts talking about energy healing, astrology, or seeing signs from the universe.

Pack the SPF, bring the snacks, and maybe leave a little room in your suitcase for a crystal or two.

Worst case? You come home with great photos.

Best case? You accidentally astral project into happy hour.
