Campari Dreams & Synth Schemes: Mind Enterprises Bring Retro Chaos to the Desert

By Ersilia Pompilio

Picture this: it’s night two at Coachella, you’re three rosés deep, your feet hurt, and suddenly, bam you’re transported into a neon soaked 1987 fever dream. Enter Mind Enterprises, the Italian duo serving Italo disco realness with a side of tongue in heek absurdity.

Andrea Tirone and Roberto Conigliaro don’t just perform they commit.

We’re talking thrift store athleisure, cigarettes dangling like it’s still legal everywhere, and what I swear was Campari in a Solo cup (honestly, iconic). Their set felt like flipping through MTV at 2 a.m. back when music videos were weird, artsy, and slightly unhinged.

For me? Total déjà vu.

Growing up in L.A. with Italian radio humming through the house, those glittery synths hit straight in the childhood. It’s nostalgia—but not the cheesy kind. More like, “wait…why do I suddenly miss my parents’ questionable dance parties?”

And then, Gloria.

When Tirone slid into that Umberto Tozzi classic, I was full on singing along from my couch like it was my job. No shame. Zero. They wrapped with “L’Americano,” and honestly? Chef’s kiss. Bellissimo chaos.

What makes Mind Enterprises hit different is the humor. Tirone pokes at ‘80s consumer culture while fully embracing it, like he’s in on the joke and so are we. It’s camp, it’s clever, it’s kinda genius.

Catch them if you can: NorCal, SoCal, and back to Coachella weekend two. Trust this isn’t just a show. It’s a vibe.
